Specialist High Skills Major: Arts and Culture
The program at Thomas A Stewart Secondary School allows students to focus their creative artistic skills into three distinct areas; instrumental music-vocal music, visual arts and drama. These programs will prepare our students for advanced post-secondary studies as well as potential employment in the fields of photography, graphic design, and musical and theatrical production. Teachers will provide opportunities for certifications and experiences outside of the classroom.

Certifications: The SHSM in Arts and Culture requires students to complete six (6) sector-recognized certifications and/or training courses. Of these, three (3) are in areas that are compulsory and the remaining three (3) are related to the student’s arts area of focus. Possible certification offerings are listed below.
