Approximately 60 TAS Co-op students are now out in the community working at their placements. Placement examples include working at construction sites, day care, medical (PRHC), animal care, restaurants, mechanic, hair salons, retail, laboratory, and law enforcement. Co-op provides students meaningful learning hands on opportunities while accumulating credits. Most students work either in the morning or the afternoon throughout the semester to earn 2 credits. Some students work all day to acquire 4 credits.
TAS also has many students helping in classroom settings as peer tutors. These students will earn one credit as they assist the teacher by performing a variety of tasks.
